L&#8217;\u00e9quipe de production s&#8217;est efforc\u00e9e d&#8217;organiser des tournages parfaits avec la vedette du projet, l&#8217;Empress (CPR 2816), une locomotive \u00e0 vapeur construite en 1930, restaur\u00e9e et exploit\u00e9e par le Chemin de fer Canadien Pacifique. Alors que la locomotive diesel d\u00e9veloppe une puissance de 4 400 chevaux \u00e0 des vitesses plus lentes (pour soulever de lourds trains de marchandises), la locomotive \u00e0 vapeur a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7ue pour la vitesse et les trains de passagers rapides.
