Principal Photography Begins on 3D Aviation Experience for IMAX Screens

The Stephen Low Company announces the start of principal photography on Legends of the Sky, a giant screen 3D film for exhibition in IMAX and other giant screen theaters.

Legends of the Sky takes audiences into the skies to follow the evolution of great aircraft over more than a century. The film puts audiences in the cockpit of some of aviation history’s most amazing machines to reveal how the design challenges, financial risks and the many lessons have brought us to the dawn of a new era of aircraft.

Legends of the Sky is directed by Stephen Low and produced by Pietro L. Serapiglia and executive produced by K2 Communications. The production is being filmed at locations across North America and internationally in the 15/70 3D film format.

Principal live-action photography for the project begins at the Paris Air Show (June 2007) and continues through 2007 with release of the film scheduled for May 2008. The project incorporates live-action aerial filming aboard vintage aircraft and computer-generated scenes including scenes composed using the revolutionary SANDDE 3D animation system. Legends of the Sky is distributed by K2 Communications and The Stephen Low Company.
